This Sunday, November 3, marks the end of Daylight Saving Time (DST). At 2:00 a.m., our clocks will officially “fall back” one hour—meaning you’ll get an extra hour of sleep this weekend!

Be sure to set your clocks back before going to bed on Saturday night so you’re right on schedule Sunday morning.

Most smartphones, computers, and other digital devices update automatically, but it’s worth double-checking those kitchen appliances, wall clocks, and car dashboards.

A Few Fun Facts About Daylight Saving Time

  • It’s over 100 years old! The U.S. first adopted DST in 1918 as a way to conserve energy during World War I.

  • Not everyone observes it. Hawaii and most of Arizona skip the time change entirely, sticking to standard time year-round.

  • It affects more than sleep. Studies show the time change can temporarily influence everything from driving patterns to coffee sales!

  • We “spring forward” again in March. The next time change will be Sunday, March 9, 2025.

As we say goodbye to longer daylight evenings and welcome cooler fall days, take advantage of the extra hour—whether you spend it catching up on rest, enjoying a slower morning, or savoring that first cup of coffee a little longer.
