Earth Day: Helpful Resources 🌎

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally through earthday.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.
As we prepare to transition out of the office and clean up our spaces, here are a few helpful resources for donating, recycling, and responsibly disposing of items:

There are also many thrift stores around town that accept donations. A few recommended by the Wellness Committee include Goodwill Industries, Heartening, and Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
Here are some 2026 Earth Day Events in Austin:
Earth Day ATX 2026 (April 11, 2026):
Location: Huston-Tillotson University (East Austin).
Details: The 7th annual festival, themed "Rooted In Community," features sustainability exhibitors, live music, local food, & family activities from 12 pm – 5 pm.
Keep Austin Beautiful Day Clean-Up (April 18, 2026; 9-11am):
Location: 13 Chicon St. Austin, TX
Details: The meeting location is the picnic tables right across the street from the Martin Neighborhood Pool and next to the parking lot at 13 Chicon St.
Rowing Dock's Earth Day Cleanup (April 24, 2026):
Location: Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail and Lady Bird Lake.
Details: A large-scale volunteer cleanup event benefiting The Trail Conservancy.
