Earth Day: Helpful Resources 🌎

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally through earthday.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.


As we prepare to transition out of the office and clean up our spaces, here are a few helpful resources for donating, recycling, and responsibly disposing of items:



There are also many thrift stores around town that accept donations. A few recommended by the Wellness Committee include Goodwill Industries, Heartening, and Habitat for Humanity ReStore.


Here are some 2026 Earth Day Events in Austin:

  • Earth Day ATX 2026 (April 11, 2026):

    • Location: Huston-Tillotson University (East Austin).

    • Details: The 7th annual festival, themed "Rooted In Community," features sustainability exhibitors, live music, local food, & family activities from 12 pm – 5 pm.

  • Keep Austin Beautiful Day Clean-Up (April 18, 2026; 9-11am):

    • Location: 13 Chicon St. Austin, TX

    • Details: The meeting location is the picnic tables right across the street from the Martin Neighborhood Pool and next to the parking lot at 13 Chicon St.

  • Rowing Dock's Earth Day Cleanup (April 24, 2026):

    • Location: Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail and Lady Bird Lake.

    • Details: A large-scale volunteer cleanup event benefiting The Trail Conservancy.
