During the pandemic, Texas REALTORS® instituted our Temporary Infectious Disease Control Policy to provide for specific protocols for persons who contracted or were exposed to someone with COVID-19. While COVID-19 is still a reality and we must continue to prevent spreading it or any other contagious condition in the workplace, the need for a policy specific to COVID-19 is no long necessary.
Therefore, we are rescinding our Temporary Infectious Disease Control Policy effective immediately. As mentioned, COVID-19 and other contagious conditions are still realities and even as the COVID-19-specific policy is no longer in place, it is all of our responsibility to continue to:
monitor our own health and work remotely or use sick time if you believe you are contagious;
continue to use precautions such as handwashing and masking when appropriate;
communicate with your supervisor if you test positive for COVID-19 and need to miss time in the office;
stay up to date on association policies for sick time and travel;
be informed on changes to local and national health conditions; and
remain flexible with coworkers and staff who may have to miss time due to illness.
