A big welcome to Bethany Greenway

Many of us have met Bethany Greenway already since she's been with Texas REALTORS® since October 24...just taken us a while to get posted here. Bethany joined the Professional Development team as Program Coordinator to help oversee long-term projects for the department, including Texas REALTORS®-owned designation and certification curriculum management and projects that arise throughout the year. Here are a few facts about Bethany's courageous journey and some fun stuff she shared with us too:

• I grew up in New York just outside of the city.

• I lived and worked in Japan for three years before coming to Texas in 2007 where I worked in newspapers and journalism.

• I two daughters, pictured here - Luciana (10) and Arabella (8).

• While being a stay at home mom I was diagnosed with stage 3a melanoma in August 2016. My cancer was on my forehead and my scar was exceptionally obvious, so I took photos and wrote daily about my cancer fight. Eventually my story got noticed by the media and for a brief while I was internet famous. I spoke at charity events and volunteered for different organizations that focused on cancer and melanoma awareness.

• Later, my cancer came back and was stage 4. After being in treatment for a year, I can gratefully say I am cancer free.

• In my spare time, when I’m not working I enjoy crafting, sewing, knitting, haberdashery, and exploring the Austin music scene.

• I have three boy cats, Colby, Ollie, and Tom.
